Pinecone Lodge, in middle of the Rocky Mountains and a ponderosa pine forest, is 8,400 feet above sea level. There is excellent access from U.S. Highway 24.

When you exit the front door, you are facing east. The mountain to the southeast is Pikes Peak, 14,100 feet above sea level. It’s identifiable because it’s really tall (!), there is a timberline (no trees grow above that point), and for most of the year it is partially or completely covered with snow.

When you exit the rear door, you are facing west. The mountain immediately in front of you is Blue Mountain, 9,200 feet above sea level. Pinecone Lodge property backs onto Pike National Forest.

The distant mountain to the northwest is Badger Mountain at Wilkerson Pass on U.S. Highway 24, 11,294 feet above sea level.

The distant mountain range to the north is the Tarryalls.

Pinecone Lodge has about 1,000 ponderosa pine trees, several dozen aspens, and a few Englemann spruce trees on its five acres.

Most of Colorado's wildlife species have been on the property. Keep watching. You may see mule deer, elk, bald eagles, golden eagles, hummingbirds, and other wildlife species.

The towns of Florissant and Lake George are five minute drives from Pinecone Lodge. Eleven Mile Reservoir is about 12 miles either way, whether you drive north or south. Eleven Mile Canyon is about seven miles away. Spinney Reservoir is just a few miles further. The town of Divide is a ten minute drive. Cripple Creek and Woodland Park are each a 20 minute drive.

Pinecone Lodge is a nonsmoking property.
